Kids Crossing

There are many influences flooding the lives of children and youth today. With consKids Crossingtraints on family time continuing to rise, there is a deep need to keep the family as a leading influence. Kids Crossing, the children's ministry of Missio Dei church, recognizes the value of family and seeks to compliment the spiritual growth already happening in families, rather than taking its place.

Kids Crossing, then, is a meeting place, a place where children, parents, families, staff, volunteers, and the community meet and follow after Jesus Christ.

Our desire, as a children's ministry team and as Missio Dei Church, is to partner with you in the spiritual development and formation of your child. As a Children's Ministry, we will endeavor to:

  • pursue full commitment to Christ,
  • establish a missional community by encouraging service and stewardship to others,
  • keep children spiritually, emotionally, and physically safe,
  • provide support to parents in order to further their child's spiritual development,
  • inspire children to be an active part of the church,
  • use relevant and creative teaching to inspire the authority of Scriptures.

Sunday mornings at Kids Crossing:

We are excited to share some new changes in the Kids' Crossing.  With the abundance of children that God has blessed Missio Dei with we are entering into a new season.  We wanted to share some of the changes with you regarding the different age groups so that you can be fully informed before you come for corporate worship on Sunday morning.  We also want to share with you some of our needs/concerns that we have regarding the ministry.

Nursery (birth until two years)

These children will be moving to room S126 which a more small-child safe room that has carpeting for our littlest ones as well comfortable reclining chairs for breastfeeding mothers.  Workers will continue to give out pagers as well as ask for ways to pray for your children.

Preschool (2 years until Kindgarten)

These children will be the South Gym.  This was the gym that we previously used before moving to the larger gym.  Their schedule will look like:

  • 10:00 - 10:25  Free play
  • 10:25 - 10:40  Singing worship songs to CD and maybe sometimes with a guitar!
  • 10:40 - 11:00 Bible Time:  This time will include a bible story and an activity that goes with it
  • 11:00 - 11:10  Snack
  • 11:10 - 11:30  Craft that will go with the theme

School Age (Kindergarten through fifth grade)

These kids will start off with you in corporate worship and will be dismissed during Family Time. 

  • 10:25 - 10:40  Singing worship songs to CD and maybe sometimes with a guitar!
  • 10:40 - 11:00  Bible Time:  This time will include a bible story and an activity that goes with it
  • 11:00 - 11:10  Snack
  • 11:10 - 11:30  Craft that will go with the theme

We will be studying the same Bible story for a month at a time which will help your child(ren) really remember that figure as well as see different aspects of his or her life.  We also would like to encourage kids and their parents to memorize Scripture together.  It will be given at the beginning of every month.
