Baby Shower

As you are well aware, Missio Dei Church will be starting worship in March with two dress rehearsals on March 4 and 11. We will be opening our doors for public worship on March 18.

As we are getting closer and closer to March we are trying to find ways to keep you involved with the life of this new church! One way of doing that is by participating in the MDC Baby Shower.

If you have ever had a child, you know that you make frequent and expensive trips to Target to prepare your home for the new baby. In the same way, in conjunction with Peace Community Church, we will be hosting this Missio Dei "Baby Shower" to make sure that MDC has its needs taken care of before its launch in March. Missio Dei has a wide variety of items that are needed for the various ministries.

If you have items at home that you would like to donate to MDC, please make sure that are items are cleaned and are items that you would give to your closest friend.

Items will be collected at Peace Community Church starting Sunday, February 11 through Sunday, February 25.

Children's Ministry:

  • TV/DVD Combo Player
  • CD Player
  • Labels (Avery size 5163)
  • Disposable Tupperware containers (all sizes)
  • Lysol Wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Children Safety Scissors
  • Adult Scissors
  • New carpet squares
  • Five First Aid Kit
  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Diaper Wipes
  • Pack and Play (2): can be used but must be in working condition.

  • Toys for the Nursery/Preschool
  • Books: Christian children's books for a lending library

Worship Ministry:

  • Bibles to give away and to be used in worship. We will be ordering them from Outreach.com
  • 25 ft. and 50 ft. extension cords
  • Power strips

Hospitality:

  • $5 Gift certificates which will be sent to first time visitors: Culvers, Coldstone, Starbucks, Panera, Caribou Coffee, etc.
  • Six Coffee Dispensers (carafes or airpots)
  • 100 cup Coffee Maker
  • Stamps for mailings (regular postage)
  • Two trays for serving donuts
  • White cocktail napkins

Administration:

  • Laptop: Newer laptop Windows XP or Vista to be used by the Administration team for finances.

Other Ways to Contribute

Prayer:

Prayer is probably the greatest thing that we need. As we get closer and closer to our launch date, we know that Satan would love to distract us any way possible. Please pass this email on to other people who would be willing to pray for Missio Dei!

Your time:

Maybe you would be willing to help out by giving Missio Dei Church your time. We will need a number of people to act as scaffolding as we are getting on our feet. You can give of your time in the Children's Ministry, helping set up on Sunday mornings, or come and join us in worship to add momentum to our worship services. Let Paul know if any of these interest you in the slightest.

It is our prayer that Missio Dei Church will reach the unchurched and the disenfranchised. Our worship and teaching style and desire to reach people for Christ in new and innovative ways could be just what you, your neighbor, family member, co-worker, have been looking for.
